The Krewe of Oak (Outrageous and Kinky), starting at the Maple Leaf.  This is Mid-Summer Mardi Gras, coincidentally held this year on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.  An event that many, if not most, New Orleans locals are unaware of.  Homemade floats, revelers in costumes, and brass bands second lining down the streets of the Carrollton neighborhood stopping at landmark bars like Carrollton Station, Snake and Jakes, and the Bruno’s corner, ending back at the Maple Leaf bar for the biannual ball.  Good times.
